Delivery Information
UK delivery on all HID kits is £7 using a national courier.

Please note that we do not provide a collection service - all HID Kits and Bulbs are shipped to you directly from our warehouse.

We send our HID kits using a courier service because of the additional insurance provided. This service requires a signature on receipt of the goods so please ensure you will be present at the delivery address you provide us with.

UK delivery on all other items is £2.50 using 1st class post. Due to the packaging required to protect our HID components in transit it is unlikely your package will fit through your letterbox. As a result, we recommend you specify a delivery address where somebody will be present to receive the goods.

Europe (non UK)
  • All orders are sent using a European Courier, charged at £20.
Rest of World (non UK or Europe)
  • Orders are sent using Royal Mail International Signed For as standard, charged at £25.
  • A worldwide courier is also available for £50.
Returns and Refunds
We pride ourselves at HID Kits on giving the best service possible along with the highest quality products. We hope that you do not encounter any problems in the course of your order process with us. However, we do appreciate that unforeseen issues can sometimes arise and have therefore set out these guidelines to follow if you need to return an item to us.

Contact Us First - It is important that you contact us before returning anything to us. We will advise you on where to send the item and enter the process into our returns system to ensure a swift resolution to the situation. Failure to contact us may result in long delays.

Goods Faulty on Arrival - If your goods are faulty on arrival, you have 28 days to inform us of the fault. When the goods are returned to us and the fault has been verified we'll issue a full refund to you via your original payment method or send a replacement as required.

Goods Damaged in Transit - If your goods were damaged in transit, we request that you report it to us within 7 days. If goods are visibly damaged on receipt its best to sign the delivery note accordingly. Once the damaged goods are received back into our warehouse we'll issue a full refund to you via your original payment method or send a replacement as required.

Goods Faulty in Warranty Period - If your goods develop a fault within the warranty period then please contact us to arrange a replacement.

If you have changed your mind - If you have simply changed your mind about your order and you wish to return your goods then in line with the Distance Selling Directive (DSD) you can do so provided you inform us of this decision within 10 days from receipt. The goods must not be opened nor used and must be as new when returned to us. Once you've informed us of your decision to return goods under DSD you have 28 days to do so at your own expense. Once goods are received at HID Kits we'll issue a full refund for the cost of the goods to your original payment method. Please note this policy does have some limitations and does not apply to business customers.

Non Delivery - If you have received the item shipped notification from us, and have not received your item within the expected delivery time period, please contact us. If you selected to use our standard delivery service then it is possible that the Royal Mail have attempted delivery but could not complete the delivery for some reason. In this instance they should leave a note BUT this does not always happen. Regardless of whether you have been left a note or not, we would advise that you check with your local sorting office to see if it is being held there, and also with your neighbours to see if it has been left with them.
If you still cannot locate your order, please contact us and we shall advise further.

Please Note - If you have selected our standard delivery service of Royal Mail 1st Class, we cannot act upon a non delivery until after 7 working days following the date of shipment. These are Royal Mail regulations that we must follow and we have absolutely no control over. While Royal Mail 1st Class is normally a next day delivery, and almost always within 3 working days, it has been known in the past to take up to 7 working days to be delivered.

FAQ's
Click on the question you need an answer to read the answers
What is an HID conversion Kit?
An HID kit is a powerful lighting system that uses the High Intensity Discharge (HID) arc lighting system which creates up to 400% more light than a standard bulb. These kits are generally direct replacements for the existing halogens and can be fitted by most as a DIY upgrade.
Why is an HID kit better?
The technology used in an HID kit produces a much more intense and clean light compared to a standard halogen bulb. A halogen bulb has a filament that heats up, reacting with the gas and gives a yellow/white light output. The yellow part of the light is due to the glowing filament. An HID kit doesn't have a filament, instead an arc of light is created between 2 electrodes. This light is a much cleaner and purer white light. As there is no filament that can break under high power, the intensity of the light can be significantly increased resulting in a brighter light. As a result these kits produce a nicer white light which is up to 400% brighter than a standard bulb.

The other advantage of an HID kit is the long life. The average life of an HID bulb is around 5 times longer than a standard halogen.
Can an HID kit be fitted to any vehicle?
We have a dedicated range of HID kits to cover all vehicles. Our HID kits can be used on cars, motorbikes, LCV's and HGV's. The ballasts we provide are designed to work with all vehicles, just use our kit finder on the home page to find the best kit.
What do the terms 5000K, 6000K and 8000K mean?
This is the colour temperature of the bulb. It simply indicates what colour the light output of the bulb will be. 5000K is a pure white light with no blue tint. 6000K is a pure white light with a slight blue tint and 8000K is a white light with a strong blue tint.

The colour temperature does not mean heat in any way. It also is not a direct indication of brightness either. However, in practice the 5000K bulbs are the brightest, closely followed by the 6000K with the 8000K bulbs giving the lowest light output of the three.
What Colour does HIDKITS.co.uk recommend?
This depends on what exactly you are looking for from your HID kit. If your sole objective is to get the most light output possible, we would suggest the 5000K colour temperature. If you want a combination of excellent light output as well as a bit of styling, we would recommend the 6000K. This gives almost as much light output as the 5000K but with a stylish blue tint.

If you want something to really stand out from the crowd and the amount of improved vision is not as important, we would recommend the 8000K bulbs.
What Applications can an HID kit be used for on my car?
Our HID kits are plug and play replacements for standard halogen headlight bulbs. Therefore any application that uses a standard halogen headlight bulb can be upgraded to HID. This would include your dipped beam, full beam, fog lights and possibly additional driving lights.
How do I find out which HID kit is best for my vehicle?
We have a very useful application guide on the home page of our website. Just put in the make, model and year of your car and it will tell you which is the best kit for your car.
What is the difference between the different types of HID kit offered?
35W CANBUS
The HIDCB HID kit has been developed to work with the newer more sophisticated ECU systems. These ECU's have more advanced checks to make sure the bulbs are still working. Standard HID kits will fail these checks and subsequently bulb out warnings will be displayed on the dash of the vehicle. Our 35W Canbus system will overcome these issues. Due to the high quality of these kits, we are able to offer a 2 year warranty on all bulbs and ballasts.

35W STANDARD
The HID35 is our standard 35W system designed to be used for non-canbus vehicles. This system is is a plug and play kit and offers up to 300% more vision than a standard bulb. We also offer a 2 year warranty on bulbs and ballasts.

35W SLIM
The SLIM35 HID conversion kit is our compact version of the HID35. The ballast on this kit is ultra thin which makes it a lot easier to fit on vehicles with restricted space. Motorbikes are the most common vehicle to use these for their obvious space restrictions but some cars can also benefit. This kit also comes with our 2 year warranty on bulbs and ballast.

55W STANDARD
The HID55 is our uprated HID kit with a power rating of 55W. The HID kit in itself is the same as the HID35 with the only difference being the power. This increase in power results in an increase in light output resulting in up to 400% improve vision over a standard bulb (as opposed to 300% improvement from the 35W kit). This kit comes with a 1 year warranty on bulbs and ballasts.
Is the fitting of an aftermarket HID kit road legal?
In the UK, fitting an aftermarket HID kit is not technically road legal as you will be replacing a halogen bulb with a modified HID bulb, because of this the HID bulb cannot be E marked, which is a requirement for it to be road legal. Other requirements when fitting HID systems are headlight self levelling and ‘wash wipe’. As these are impractical and costly additions in the aftermarket we only sell our HID kits for off-road use only. This applies to all non OEM HID kits and all resellers.
